The Great Conductor
If you remain in one place enough for long,
a thin layer of stasis will grow over you.
Soon, people no longer notice you.
You become free to observe the most beautiful act of life:
God's clockwork song & dance.
There is always something interesting to observe.
Squirrels flickering their tails to the universal vibration
as they scurry and pop their heads up, sniffing.
Sea gulls collecting on the beach side and hills
that cock their neck back and forth,
until enough have gathered, taking to the skies in unison.
Let's not forget the trees,
and how they bow to creation as the wind casts forays
that will render their leafies naked.
These things will remain,
but the clockwork comes from the people,
each in perfect step as a woman drops and spills her purse,
as a 3 year old boy tries to catch the ball his father lobs,
that bounces off his chest before his arms
clasp together a half second late each time.
If you look long enough,
all the doubt about who we are and where we belong
or what we ought to be doing is effaced.
We are here, and once again, the Great Conductor
has prepared the finest of symphonies. How does He outdo Himself?
I wonder.

of All Life, so that
the Voice of Intuition may guide
us closer to our common Keeper
